Why do people forget? What are the neural mechanisms underlying working memory? How are these processes disrupted in neurological disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease?
I am particularly interested in understanding the retrieval mechanisms underlying working memory in order to identify a cognitive biomarker with pharmacological and psychological manipulations. I am currently working on the development of new neuropsychological tools to understand how retrieval affects memory quality.
Before joining the Cognitive Neurology Group, I completed an undergraduate and master’s degree in Biomedical and Biophysical Engineering at the University of Lisbon.
